New is an up-and-coming gallery that proposes new possibilities for art, opening in March 2024 in Jimbocho, Tokyo.
Gallery. At our gallery, the full album of sheep literature “12 hugs (like “The Secret Garden” is a special exhibition created by the creative team HUG and created together with numerous artists inspired by “Sheep Literature – 12 hugs (like butterflies)” started today, May 30th.
Hitsuji Bungaku is an alternative rock band characterized by a delicate yet powerful sound, consisting of Vo.Gt. Moeka Shiozuka, Bass. Yurika Kasai, and Dr. Hiroa Fukuda. In recent years, “More than words” has exceeded 100 million domestic streaming views, and also appeared at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL’23 and performed “The Secret Garden” during the day.

“Secret Garden” inspired by Hitsugi Bungaku – 12 hugs (like
butterflies) released their full album “12 hugs (like
haru. (HUG), who was in charge of the artwork for “butterflies”, reinterpreted the song while following the self-liner notes received from Moeka Shiozuka, and expressed the world view of the album together with artists active in various fields. This is an exhibition space.
In this space, where the ever-changing band itself is defined as a “garden” and the creators and staff who cultivate it are “gardeners”, Haru.(HUG) and Nico

It has also been decided that photographic works such as original hand prints of sheep literature taken by Perez will be on sale for the first time. About seven years ago, when I first met Moeka-san, I was extremely late for an appointment.
When I was still new to Tokyo, he chose me as his interview partner for a media interview. I don’t remember much about that moment, but her big, melancholy eyes left an impression on me. When he saw me standing tall even though I was late (which is the worst), he recently told me, “It made me realize that this is okay.”
Later, he became involved in creating artwork, and for his first design, “To the Young People” (2018), he chose a photo for the jacket that would make you want to look into the future reflected in Moeka’s eyes.
The only time I interact with the members is during the production period, and I don’t really talk about their private lives, but I feel like when I listen to their songs, I can capture what’s important to them right now because they don’t compromise or lie about their music. 『our
hope” (2022), and “12 hugs (like
butterflies)” (2023), and slowly built a relationship of trust. “The Secret Garden” is an exhibition space in which we at HUG reinterpret the music and worldview of “12 hugs (like butterflies).”
In this space, where the ever-changing band itself is defined as a “garden,” and the creators and staff who cultivate it are
“gardeners,” we wanted to cherish the space to dream in the process of creating works.
The key visual for the exhibition is a cyanotype print of a photograph of a butterfly-shaped hinge that connects the door of creation. The term “drawing a blueprint” is sometimes used to refer to formulating a plan for a future that is yet to be seen, but this exhibition is like dismantling the image of sheep literature that was forming within me. was. By intentionally making the outline vague, you can surely transform it into anything.
We hope that sheep literature, which has a variety of possibilities, and that each member of the group can continue to explore their own forms of expression freely.
