Pearson Japan Co., Ltd. About Global Scale of English (GSE)
Pearson’s Global Scale of English is based on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Languages: a standard framework for world language proficiency) and further develops that system to define the Can Do Descriptor for the four English skills on a scale of 10-90. (GSE), which we apply to all Pearson learning programs and
assessments.
The major feature of GSE is that it not only allows company personnel (human resources/recruiting departments) and educational institutions (English teachers and academic affairs personnel) to accurately and precisely grasp the four English skills of learners, but also helps learners understand the four English skills.
