Music is a universal language for people of all ages and genders. And the ability to express those words does not change even if you are physically disabled.
Listen to a live performance by Kanae Iwasaki, who practices every day with the belief that she wants to show people all over the world that you can enjoy playing the piano even if you have a severe disability! Hanae Iwasaki Profile
Born in 1993. Lives in Nerima Ward, Tokyo. Cerebral palsy is a sequelae of premature birth. After graduating from the National Conservatory of Music, he went to a welfare work center. I started learning piano when I was in first grade, first playing duet with my sister and now with my mother. I mainly play the melody with my right index finger. After performing at the United Nations and Carnegie Hall in New York in 2007, he has performed all over Japan, as well as in Taiwan, Canada, Austria, the United States, and Mexico. Received the 2014 JASRAC Music Culture Award. In 2018, released a solo mini album “Ichirin no Hana”. In June 2021, he appeared on Zoom with Mr. Akira Yamashita, who has autism, at the Special Needs Talent Showcase in the United States and won the Top 3 award. In August of the same year, he played the keyboard as a member of the para orchestra at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Paralympic Games. Received Taiwan’s “Global Passionate Life Award” in 2022. Also, in 2014, he started learning the electronic organ and is trying to play with both hands. My dream is to show people around the world that you can enjoy playing the piano even if you have a severe disability.
