The OSK Nippon Opera Company was founded in Osaka in 1922 as the Shochiku Music Theater Club, and will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2022. Despite the turbulent times of the Taisho, Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras, the OSK Nippon Opera Company gained popularity as an organization that inherited the world’s rare “girls’ opera” culture. It produced many stars of the silver screen, including the actress Machiko Kyo, and among them, Shizuko Kasagi joined the OSK Nippon Opera Company (then Osaka Shochiku Gakugeki Club) in 1927 and enjoyed a historic golden age at the Shochikuza Theater. After building it, he collaborated with composer Ryoichi Hattori to make Tokyo Boogie Woogie and Shopping Boogie a huge hit. Based on Shizuko Kasagi, one of the biggest stars of the Showa era who was very successful as the Queen of Boogie, her life will be broadcast in the TV drama series “Boogie Woogie”.

Kazuki Tsubasa Profile
Born in Osaka. A male star who excels in energetic singing and dancing. In 2022, he will star in a major theater performance for the first time in the 42nd Takefu Review. In 2023, she will be selected to play the role of the heroine’s senior, Aoi Tachibana, in the TV drama series “Boogie Woogie.” The musical “Hebo Samurai – Seinan Rebellion Story”, in which he starred in August, received favorable reviews and will be performed again in Osaka in January 2024, and will be premiered in Tokyo in February 2024.
