UNIVAS has decided to hold “UNIVAS CUP 2024-25,” a cross-sport intercollegiate competition where universities compete for their prestige! Starting with baseball starting on June 10th!!
It has been decided that intercollegiate badminton competitions will be streamed from this year! We plan to broadcast over 2,000 games in 30 competitions, mainly live!!

The University Sports Association (General Incorporated Association: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Chairman: Norihiko Fukuhara, hereinafter referred to as UNIVAS) aims to promote the comprehensive power of sports in order to convey the appeal of university sports and increase the interest of as many people as possible. We will hold the “UNIVAS CUP 2024-25”, a competitive inter-university competition. Starting this season, with the addition of badminton, we plan to broadcast approximately 2,000 games in over 30 sports on UNIVAS Plus.

Among the tournaments held by the 33 sports organizations that are regular members of UNIVAS, the tournament in which universities from all over the country participate to determine the best university in Japan is designated as the designated tournament of “UNIVAS CUP”, and the points allocated to each sports organization are calculated based on the ranking of the tournament. The overall ranking will be determined based on the total number of points earned. In order to get as many people interested as possible, we will provide an
easy-to-understand explanation of the points earned for each competition and the points earned by each university.
〇Award system
After the “UNIVAS CUP 2024-25” designated tournament, the total number of points earned for the “National Comprehensive Ranking” and “Regional Comprehensive Ranking,” “Number of Points Earned by Men and Women,” “Number of Competition Wins by Men and Women,” and “Number of Points Earned by National and Public Universities” will be updated. Awards will be given to top performing schools.
〇Video distribution
In order to show the appeal of university sports to as many people as possible, UNIVAS will conduct live and archive distribution on the university sports viewing apps “UNIVAS Plus” and “UNIVAS LIVE.” For those who are unable to attend the tournament, we will create an environment where they can support their favorite universities and teams through video, and through lots of support, we will support the students of the athletic club so that they can work on the competition with even higher motivation. .

-Competition details-
1. Among the tournaments held by UNIVAS member athletic organizations, in which universities from all over the country participate and determine the best university in Japan, in principle, one tournament per sport will be designated as a “UNIVAS CUP 2024-25” designated tournament.
(*If held separately for men and women, each will be a designated competition) 2. Each university will earn UNIVAS points according to its ranking in the designated competition, and the overall ranking of the competition will be determined based on the total number of points earned in the designated competition.
3. Awards will be given to universities with top grades.
-Point distribution-
The total number of points will be set based on the number of registered universities for each competition organization (as of March 2023) and distributed according to the following method for each competition.
1.As the ranking determination method differs for each competition, the range and ratio of point allocation for each competition will be set for each competition and announced before the competition begins. 2. Points will be awarded only to UNIVAS member universities; points earned by non-member universities will be forfeited.
3. If a tournament to determine the best university in Japan is not held, a local tournament will be set as a point allocation tournament after consulting with the relevant sports organization and ensuring fairness.
4. Points will not be distributed for competitions where no regional tournaments will be held and tournaments for which points can be allocated cannot be set. (Points for the relevant competition group will be lost.)
5. In the event that there are unavoidable changes regarding the holding of a designated tournament, changes may be made to the dates, tournament outline, and point distribution.

Universities will compete for ranking based on the total number of points earned in the following five courses, and awards will be given to the top universities.
