Goto City, Nagasaki Prefecture, is inviting applications from all over the country for projects that will subsidize three-quarters (up to 12 million yen) of the costs required for business expansion and startups that will lead to job creation within the city.
[About Goto City]
Goto City consists of 10 inhabited islands and 53 uninhabited islands, located approximately 100 kilometers west of Nagasaki City.
It is a tourist destination rich in natural scenery such as beautiful sandy beaches and cultural and historical assets, and is a region that is gaining attention as it has properties that are part of the “Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki and Amakusa Region”, which is registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site. It’s a local government. [Background of the need for job creation]
Goto City’s population is declining and is expected to be half of its current size in 50 years. In order to protect Japan’s border areas, it is necessary to maintain the population of Goto City, a remote island facing the border.
In order to maintain the population, Goto City is creating stable employment for the young generation, improving the city’s employment rate after graduating from high school, and encouraging young people who have moved outside the island to turn to UI. Goto is a treasure island with hidden potential. Would you like to utilize your abilities to develop your business in Goto?
