■※Linkalan Project
Since 2016, our company has been supporting local cacao farmers based in Gorontalo Province, located in the northwest of Sulawesi Island, Indonesia.
Indonesia is one of the world’s leading producers of cacao, but most of the production is carried out by small-scale farmers, and it faces quality issues due to insufficient knowledge and technology regarding the cultivation and processing of cacao trees. In addition, corn cultivation has been actively practiced in Gorontalo for some time, and environmental destruction such as deforestation and land devastation caused by slash-and-burn cultivation is also an issue. To resolve these issues, we have been conducting unique support activities together with local cacao farmers. Starting this year, the project name has been changed to the “Rinkaran Project” and we have made a new start as an activity that aims to restore the lost lush green land of Indonesia and improve the value of Indonesian cacao. This project provides a wide range of support, including the provision of cacao seedlings, technical support for cacao cultivation and fermentation of cacao beans, and the provision of production materials such as wooden boxes and water pumps for fermentation. We also purchase high-quality cacao beans with incentives to support cacao farmers’ stable income and job satisfaction.
Linka Landark 62 uses cacao mass produced by our company together with local farmers as part of these efforts. In addition, a portion of the sales of this product will be returned to support activities for cacao farmers through the project, making it a product that contributes to sustainable cacao cultivation.
