Youngest Japanese to sail solo around the world without any ports of call and without resupply
Hirotsugu Kimura, who is attempting to sail around the world solo on a yacht without stopping at any ports, is finally returning home. If he crosses the finish line safely, he will become the youngest Japanese person to achieve the feat at 24 years and 9 months old, and the first Japanese record in 30 years.
With 618.6 miles remaining, we plan to enter the Kii Channel (33 degrees 50′ – 52′ north latitude), our goal, by the end of this week. Current location as of June 4th
As I mentioned in the previous dispatch, we are planning to hold a port-of-port ceremony so that we can all celebrate the finale of such a brave man.
