With the vision of “creating a sustainable region and society full of motivated young people,” the Platform for the Promotion of Regional and Educational Attractiveness, a general incorporated foundation (located in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture), has been aiming to change society through local education since 2017. Mirai BASE 2nd floor, 2-25-6 Higashihonmachi, Ichi, Representative Director: Yu Iwamoto) will hold a business report event with the theme of “Education changes from the local area”.
At this reporting event, we will not only report on our activities in 2023 from the representatives of the group, but also have a panel talk and discussion on future plans with guest experts under the theme of “Education changes from local areas”. Masu. Although education in rural areas is generally thought to be in decline, there are actually many interesting examples of high schools. On the day of the event, we will also introduce examples of high schools in rural areas that are changing their education. This event is open to everyone who is involved with our organization, as well as those involved in the local community and education, as well as those who are interested.

Regional and educational attractiveness platform
Representative Director Yu Iwamoto
Born in Tokyo. While a student, he visited regional development sites in 20 countries in Asia and Africa, and published a record of his experiences. The royalties were used to build a school in Afghanistan. After obtaining a kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and high school teaching license and graduating, he worked at Sony in human resource development, organizational development, social contribution projects, etc., while also working on developmental education and career education at schools and universities.
Since 2007, we have been practicing town development in Ama Town through human resources development centered on Okishima High School, and received the first Platinum Award (Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award). Selected as one of the “100 People Who Will Rebuild Japan” (Asahi Shimbun Publishing/AERA).
Since 2015, he has concurrently held positions at the Shimane Prefecture Office of Education and the Shimane Prefecture Regional Development Department, engaging in regional revitalization through education.
