Due to the recent depreciation of the yen and the soaring costs of transportation and accommodation, the Otomo Yoshihide Special Big Band’s festival appearances in various European countries scheduled for October to November 2024 will be at a significant loss. We are in a situation where we are expected to do so, and we have begun to make this tour a reality. The rewards include a limited live album carefully selected from the European tour, a limited radio program sound source that mainly talks about the events of the tour, a specially selected lucky bag selected by Mr. Otomo (autographed CD, letter, etc.), and an exhibition piece “without records” This is a valuable lineup, including the portable turntable (signed) used in “. We would like to ask for your support as we work to make this tour a reality, in order to showcase in Europe the fruits of Mr. Otomo’s tireless efforts after the earthquake in his hometown of Fukushima.

History leading up to the European tour
The Otomo Yoshihide Special Big Band was originally a band that played the music of “Ama-chan”, but it was originally a band that played the music of “Ama-chan”,
Otomo gradually became the core of Otomo’s post-earthquake activities as he repeatedly performed at Bon Odori for Project FUKUSHIMA!, which was started after the earthquake, held workshops with the general public, and performed at live houses. We became a band. After the earthquake, Mr. Otomo focused his activities on creating music venues in collaboration with ordinary people who are not music experts. The various workshops and the music for the Bon dance “Ama-chan” were born from this idea, and none of them would have been possible without the collaboration of the band members. Inevitably, the band’s activities became centered around Japan. On the other hand, Mr. Otomo’s career was also nurtured by the improvisational performance and experimental music scene in Europe, and he hopes to introduce this band’s activities to Europe someday, and also wants the members to experience the European scene. , I started to think strongly. One of our strong motivations is that it is difficult for people in Europe and America to understand the band’s activities after the earthquake, so we want to introduce the band’s music and communicate their recent activities. Fortunately, I am a private agent who supports the non-commercial activities of musicians in Norway.
No Earplugs’ Malwina Witkowska supports the idea. The tour was scheduled to take place in 2021, but was canceled due to the pandemic, and just as we were about to give up on the tour, No Earplugs was approached by festivals across Europe to travel to Europe again, and with her efforts, the tour was scheduled to take place in the fall of 2024. A European tour spanning over 20 years will be realized. Crowdfunding overview: A project to support Yoshihide Otomo Special Big Band’s first European tour

The group was formed in September 2012, with members active in various fields such as classical music, pops, jazz, rock, and improvisation, taking the opportunity to produce music for the NHK TV drama series “Ama-chan.” As the “Ama-chan Special Big Band,” the band had 10,000 people dancing at the Aichi Triennale, and after a nationwide tour, the band disbanded after performing at the Kohaku Uta Gassen at the end of 2013. However, due to Otomo’s desire to regret its uniqueness, the band restarted the following year as the “Otomo Yoshihide Special Big Band.” He has performed Bon Odori in various places including Fukushima, held workshops with the general public and children, and appeared at Fuji Rock and the Sapporo International Art Festival. After performing at various live houses including Shinjuku Pit In, the band became the core of Yoshihide Otomo’s unique activities after the earthquake. In 2019, he was in charge of the music for the NHK Taiga drama “Idaten”, and he also appeared as a guest at the NHK Symphony Orchestra’s regular performances.Last year, he also worked on the music for the Disney+ drama “Seasonless Town”, and has also been involved in recordings, concerts, etc. Various activities are ongoing. Also pay attention to the trends of the unique members who are individually active in completely different genres! A 2021 European tour was scheduled but canceled due to the pandemic. The album “Stome Stone Stone” recorded during this time will be released in 2022. In the fall of 2024, we have started crowdfunding for a tour of various European countries, which will be our first overseas performance.
