First collaboration between artist Masaho Yasunotani and Plantation Live A Punkstation Like Plantation

An exhibition of original paintings created for the collaboration will be held at Plantation Aoyama store from 18:00 on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 to Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

It will be released from (Thursday).
Plantation continues to create comfortable everyday wear by weaving the blessings of the earth with a pleasant texture and feel, and Mr. Yasunotani has created numerous drawings and paintings that value intuition and skin sensation.
This collection, the first collaboration between the two, focuses on the people Mr. Yasunotani has met, who are sowing seeds of joy in life and living their lives accepting freedom, kindness, life, death, and blessings. That life became an inspiration.
“First of all, it means being a natural body.It expresses that your body and soul exist within the flow of this cosmos.The actions and habits of your daily life reflect the cosmos within them. I’m letting you do it.
It also comes from a non-conscious realm. If we call it beauty, then beauty is the art of making life richer. Each and every person lives their own universe – beauty. That’s what I decide.
It creates a powerful and soft flow. As I interacted with Plantation’s works up close and through their sleeves, I could feel their individuality in every pore of my body. On the evening of June 12th (Wednesday), the first day of the event, we will hold an opening party that anyone can attend, where Mr. Yasunoya will perform live paintings, and a limited number of booklets made with photographs taken by him will be sold. The Takashima region of Shiga Prefecture is located in the
northwestern part of Shiga Prefecture. Since the Edo period, it has been famous as a producer of thin cotton fabrics for clothing called “cotton willow” and “cotton crepe,” collectively known as “Takashima chijimi.”
By changing our thinking and using “Yoryu” made from Takashima Chijimi for horizontal stripes, we created a moderate tension in the fabric, elasticity similar to pleats, and rhythmic movement similar to a spring. While maintaining the designed silhouette, the way it rises and falls rhythmically with each movement, and the texture of the material that allows just the right amount of light to pass through, create a modern piece with a unique atmosphere.

Based in Japan, he is actively involved in holding solo exhibitions and participating in group exhibitions both domestically and internationally. We project vital information floating in our daily lives, social events, observations and sensations obtained in nature onto our own center, and center on the instantaneous reactions and reflexes that occur from there. We capture impressions from the multi-layered world of expression and materialize them. The final forms include paintings, drawings, collages, performances, poems, and photographs.
