Watermelon “Konjiki Raou” from Hirakawa Farm, Hita City, Oita Prefecture Hita City is the prefecture’s number one producer of watermelons, taking advantage of its unique basin climate with large temperature differences between day and night. Konjikirao is cultivated in one vine, one fruit, so that all the nutrients are distributed in one ball. Furthermore, the seeds are exposed to the sun evenly to bring out their sweetness, and the balls, which weigh nearly 10 kg, are turned over during cultivation to ensure that they have a beautiful, spherical shape. The bright golden-yellow fruit is left to ripen in the field for 5 days longer than regular watermelons, which brings out its strong sweetness and exceptional taste, as well as its crunchy texture.
This is a limited-time cake where you can enjoy the watermelon “Konjiki Rao” from Hirakawa Farm, Hita City, Oita Prefecture, which is grown with care and honesty in cultivation, which is said to be difficult.
