Kitashinchi, Osaka: Restaurant “Kitashinchi U” where you can enjoy the “lingering aftertaste” of flavor and aroma – A new menu will be launched from June 10th to celebrate the 1st anniversary.
*Based on French cuisine, the restaurant’s deep course meals carefully select ingredients and thoroughly pursue flavor and aroma. Starting June 10th (Monday), we will be offering a new course for ¥13,000 (excluding tax). *
I quietly set up my residence on the second floor of a building a few minutes walk from Kitashinchi Station. When you open the door, you will be warmly welcomed by the chef and madam at the 8-seat counter.

The owner/chef is 34 years old from Toyonaka, Osaka. At the age of 23, he jumped into the world of French cuisine in order to expand his late respected grandfather’s meat-packing company into various fields. This is because we thought that the sauce would bring out the flavor of the meat. I was drawn to the techniques and variety of expressions that bring out the flavor and aroma of French cuisine ingredients. And in 2023, independence. Although the chef studied French cuisine, his roots lie in Japanese cuisine, which his grandfather often took him to eat from an early age. From this, French cuisine and aromatic dishes made with delicately prepared soup stock were born.

The interior of the store is decorated with a painting of a lady that was cherished by my grandfather and has become a symbol of Kitashinchi U. Taking inspiration from this painting, the interior of the store was designed by a designer who also works on resort hotels in Japan and abroad. The plates are prepared right in front of your eyes, surrounding a gently curved table counter. What he puts the most effort into is the dashi (base). We take the time to prepare the ingredients to bring out their flavor and aroma to the fullest. We offer natural wine. The delicate aroma with a long lingering aftertaste of the dish and the fruity natural wine harmonize gently.

There was only one course for ¥18,000 (excluding tax), but a new ¥13,000 (excluding tax) course will be available from June 10th (Monday). One of the attractions is that the course content is updated monthly, allowing you to fully enjoy seasonal ingredients.
