**
NCXX Co., Ltd. agrees to mutual verification for implementation of 5G specification “RedCap” for IoT devices that realizes small size, low power consumption, and low cost.
NCXX Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Hidefumi Ouchi, hereinafter referred to as “NCXX”), a consolidated subsidiary of NCXX Group, Inc., and FLARE Co., Ltd.
SYSTEMS (Representative Director: Takayuki Nakagawa, hereinafter “FLARE”) “5G NR” is a 5G specification for IoT devices that realizes small size, low power consumption, and low cost.
We would like to inform you that we have agreed to proceed with mutual verification toward the implementation of “RedCap” (hereinafter referred to as “RedCap” *1).
Record
“RedCap” is a 3GPP Release
It is a standard defined in 17*2 and is a specification for 5G IoT. While 5G requires extremely high performance in terms of communication speed and reliability, there are also demands for low power
consumption, low cost, and low data rates for installation in multi-connection terminals. “RedCap” is a 4G high-speed communication function that changes from regular 5G to 4G.
By keeping it at the LTE level, it will be possible to reduce power consumption, make the device smaller, and lower the price, making it possible to replace LTE and expand the use of 5G to IoT applications that do not require high speed. . It also achieves “even lower latency and improved reliability compared to LTE*3,” and is expected to be used in wearable terminals and various industrial sensor devices. NCXX and FLARE SYSTEMS have agreed to proceed with mutual verification towards the implementation of “RedCap”. FLARE
SYSTEMS uses software-based 5G SA compatible base station “FS2-L5G-1” *4, and NEX uses 3GPP
We will provide local 5G terminals compatible with Release 17, verify interoperability, and verify “RedCap” system compatibility.
FLARE
By leveraging the strengths of software base stations, SYSTEMS will be able to quickly support “RedCap” and realize IoT services with a good balance of features such as communication speed, low latency, power saving, and multiple connections. By linking with industrial sensors and utilizing wearable terminals and surveillance cameras, we can help customers in the manufacturing industry transform their on-site operations.

FLARE SYSTEMS is “Democratizing Next Generation Cyber
We are a technology group that carries out everything from consulting and system provision to construction and operation of platforms (5G or beyond 5G) that create digital transformation, with a business concept of “Infrastructure”. In addition, a new local 5G software base station that integrates 5G core, multi-access edge computing (MEC), and RU/CU/DU will utilize next-generation mobile communication technologies such as 5G and Beyond5G from universities and
research-related institutions. We are currently developing a high-performance, compact local 5G system that can be placed anywhere and create a local 5G environment by simply turning on the power switch.
NCXX and FLARE SYSTEMS will continue to collaborate in the future, providing high-performance and highly reliable local 5G systems and contributing to customers’ business transformation.

*1 What is “RedCap” (5G New Radio Reduced Capability)?
This is an extension function that makes it easier to connect IoT devices defined in 3GPP Release 17 with 5G.
*2 What is 3GPP Release 17?
3GPP is an international standardization project that examines and formulates specifications for mobile communication systems.
The specifications for Release 17 were completed in June 2022. *3 What is Long Term Evolution?
It is a communication standard exclusively for mobile (corresponding to 3.9G between 3G and 4G).
*4 What is “FS2-L5G-1”?
It is a small, low power consumption, high performance local 5G system that can be used immediately.
