The Japan RV Association (JRVA) surveyed campervan users and member company campervan manufacturers and sales companies across the country, and found that the total number of campervans owned in Japan has been increasing year by year since exceeding 100,000 in 2016, and is expected to increase by 2023. In 2018, sales increased by 10,000 units from the previous year to 155,000 units. Additionally, total sales of new and used cars reached a record high of 105.45 billion yen.
In addition to the distribution of various vehicle types, there is a growing interest in cars not only as a means of transportation, but also in a wide range of ways to use them, such as new forms of leisure, housing in the event of a disaster, and use as an office that allows telework. We can see that demand for styles and other items is expanding more than ever.
