Yamada Bee Farm Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kagamino-cho, Tomata-gun, Okayama Prefecture, Representative: Hideo Yamada) has donated a total of 20,000 books to elementary schools across the country as the “Mitsubee Bunko.” We started shipping the books in early May and delivered them to all elementary schools in early June.
“Mitsubee Bunko” is a book donation activity that our company has continued every year for 25 years since 1999. This donation marks the 25th year of this activity, and we donated books to approximately 2,500 elementary schools nationwide. Additionally, on behalf of elementary schools across the country, we held a donation ceremony at an elementary school in Okayama Prefecture on Tuesday, June 4th. Over the past 25 years, we have donated over 750,000 books to 69,953 schools. ■What is “Mitsubachi Bunko”? With the hope that children will develop a rich heart, we aim to educate children on the themes of “the importance of the natural environment,” “connections between people,” and “the importance of life.” We have selected books that will help children learn, think deeply, and take action as part of the “Mitsubee Bunko” and donate them to elementary schools across the country. Donation recipients will be selected through a lottery after soliciting donations from the public through newspapers and websites. Books are donated along with a message card from the applicant. According to the “Survey on the current state of school libraries (announced on July 29, 2021)” published by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the percentage of elementary schools that have achieved library standards is 71.2%, which means that approximately 30% of elementary schools There aren’t enough books in the library. Our company, which has its origins in the beekeeping industry, aims to work with many people in society to provide “spiritual nutrition” to children, just as we watched over the growth of children throughout the community in the agricultural society of the past.
