At the “1st Fire Equipment Engineer Summit 2024” to be held at the Nagoya International Conference Center on Saturday, June 8, 2024, WAVE1 Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Suginami-ku, Tokyo), which provides IT solutions for the fire equipment industry, Takuya Yoshimura, CEO of WAVE1), will hold a session with Fumiaki Kobayashi, a member of the House of Representatives, on the theme of “DXization of the
firefighting equipment industry,” focusing on digitalization policies being promoted by the government.
About House of Representatives member Fumiaki Kobayashi

What is the review of analog regulations being promoted by the government? In recent years, the labor shortage throughout Japan has become a serious issue. Starting in 2022, the government has begun reviewing approximately 4,000 clauses in laws and regulations (analog
regulations) that require analog work such as face-to-face, permanent, and implicit inspections in order to eliminate labor shortages and improve productivity in field operations through digitalization. This review of analog regulations is targeting not only the infrastructure industry but also the firefighting equipment industry, and inspection content is being reviewed to improve work efficiency through digitalization.
In this session, WAVE1’s Yoshimura will have a conversation with Mr. Fumiaki Kobayashi, a member of the House of Representatives who is a central figure in the analog regulatory reform being promoted by the government, and will discuss the “purpose of reviewing analog regulations” and “issues for both the government and the private sector.” It has become.

Current status of labor shortage in the firefighting equipment industry In recent years, as Japan’s overall labor shortage has become more serious, the firefighting equipment industry is also facing a major labor shortage. While the number of fire prevention properties for which firefighting equipment inspections are mandatory has increased from approximately 3.94 million (*1) to approximately 4.25 million (*2) in the past 10 years, the number of firefighting equipment contractors conducting inspections is increasing in age. is
progressing. According to a survey by the Shizuoka Prefecture Fire Equipment Association, 45% of fire equipment engineers are over 55 years old, and this number is on track to reach 50%. The ratio of young people is low, and as the population ages, the labor shortage is expected to become even more serious.

WAVE 1’s Yoshimura believes that inspecting firefighting equipment is an essential task that protects the safety of our lives, and that measures must be taken to resolve the labor shortage as soon as possible.
As an industry solution, WAVE1 has launched the human resource sharing service “Birume” that attracts side job personnel to the
firefighting equipment industry, and aims to resolve the human resource shortage by matching fire equipment companies in need of labor with side job personnel. We also provide a cloud-based inspection result report creation system, “Inspection Expert,” which helps streamline office work for firefighting equipment inspections. -Builme- https://www.builme.jp/
