Located in the southern part of Aso, Kumamoto Prefecture, adjacent to the nature-filled resort “Kyukamura Minamiaso” (Location: Takamori, Takamori Town, Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture, General Manager: Hideo Sei) located in Takamori Town, which is said to be the back seat of Minami Aso. At the Aso Wildflower Garden, the rare flower “Hanashinobu”, which grows only in the limited grasslands of Aso, is in full bloom. Hanashinobu is a perennial herb that grows in mountain grasslands, and it is currently confirmed to grow naturally only in a small part of the Aso region of the country.

◆7th Minami Aso “Wild Flower Concert” At the Aso Wildflower Garden, the native species Hanashinobu is grown for conservation purposes. This year will be the 7th concert held to coincide with the flowering season of Hanashinobu. The event will include performances by Kumamoto City’s Shokei Junior High School, Shokei High School Guitar Mandolin Club and Minamiaso Junior High School Brass Band, as well as presentations by students from Kamoto Prefectural Agricultural High School on activities such as “Let’s protect Kumamoto’s wildflowers.” In addition, the Minamiaso Visitor Center will hold the “Aso Wildflower Garden Nature Observation” where you can enjoy a refreshing day in early summer.
