Daiwa Securities Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and Representative Director Akihiko Ogino, hereinafter referred to as “Daiwa Securities”) has announced that Hyogo Prefecture will issue a green bond in July 2024 (hereinafter referred to as the “Bond”). We would like to inform you that you can purchase at Daiwa Securities counters nationwide, including eight branches and sales offices in Hyogo Prefecture. This bond can be purchased by investors (limited to corporations) nationwide with a minimum amount of 10 million yen, and purchased investors can make an investment declaration*. The names (corporate names) of investors who have made investment declarations will be introduced on the Hyogo Prefecture website at a later date. *Investment declaration: An announcement that you agree with the significance of the project for which this bond is aimed and that you have purchased this bond. This is the third time this fiscal year that Hyogo Prefecture has issued a green bond. The funds will be used for energy efficiency projects implemented by Hyogo Prefecture, such as switching to LED lighting at prefectural facilities, updating air conditioning equipment, and installing solar power generation equipment, as well as climate change initiatives such as river improvement, storm surge countermeasures, and forest maintenance. The project is scheduled to be used for projects that aim to conserve biodiversity, such as promoting adaptation to the environment, and creating a habitat for white storks.
