One of Japan’s first female lawyers
An event will be held on June 21st (Friday) where the mascot character “Masako Sensei”, modeled by Masako Nakata, will visit the museum of her alma mater, Meiji University!

On June 21st, the Tottori Bar Association’s mascot character “Masako Sensei”, modeled after Masako Nakata, one of Japan’s first female lawyers who was active in Tottori Prefecture for a long time, will visit her alma mater, Meiji University. Friday) will be held at Meiji University Museum. Masako Nakata and her alumnus Yoshiko Mibuchi are the models for the first half of 2024’s serial TV novel “Tiger ni Tsubasa,” and are also among the first female lawyers in Japan who were also born from Meiji University.
On the day of the event, Masako Sensei will be presenting the exhibition “Wings for the Tiger” (organized by the NHK Foundation), which is a special exhibition introducing the world of serial TV novels, and the “Pioneer of female legal training – Meiji University Faculty of Law and Women’s Division” exhibition (Meiji University (sponsored by the Historical Materials Center). We are also planning a collaboration between Meiji University’s mascot characters Meijiro and Masako Sensei.
