“Virtual High School Baseball” is certified by Guinness World Records (TM)! Achieved 3,482 games streamed at the 105th National High School Baseball Championship Memorial Tournament last summer. Official certificate award ceremony held
Asahi Shimbun (Representative Director and President: Shiro Nakamura) and Asahi Broadcasting Television Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Toshiaki Imamura) will be broadcasting a game from last summer’s 105th National High School Baseball Championship Memorial Tournament, which was streamed on “Virtual High School Baseball.” With 3,482 games, it was recognized by Guinness World Records (TM) for the most games streamed live on a platform in a single sports
championship. All games from local tournaments to national
tournaments. To celebrate this, an official certificate was awarded on June 10, 2024 by an official Guinness World Records (TM) certifier. “Virtual High School Baseball” is produced by KDDI Corporation (Representative Director and President)

* ◆History of “Virtual High School Baseball” *
Live streaming of the summer championship tournament began in 2015, and initially a total of 26 games were live streamed for the local tournament. “SPORTS
In 2018, when we started rolling out “Virtual High School Baseball” within “BULL,” approximately 700 games were streamed. In 2021, four companies launched a “project aiming to broadcast all matches at local tournaments,” and have expanded the number of matches every year. In 2023, for the first time, we covered all games from local tournaments to national tournaments, broadcasting 3,482 games.
The 106th National High School Baseball Championship is scheduled to begin this year as well, starting with the Okinawa tournament on June 22nd (Saturday). “Virtual High School Baseball” will once again support the spread and development of high school baseball by live streaming all games from local tournaments and reaching more fans.

Last year, Asahi Broadcasting Television and Asahi Shimbun have been working together with Asahi Shimbun to develop the Internet service “Virtual High School Baseball,” and last year we were finally able to achieve our long-held desire to stream all games from local tournaments. When I was a child, I could never have dreamed that we are now in an era where every game from the first round of local tournaments can be streamed all over Japan and even around the world.
