Regarding the sale of “Masterplan,” we will report on the details of our activities and results from two perspectives: the SDGs perspective and the music business perspective.
[SDGs perspective]
Activities: Changed CD jackets, which used to be made of plastic, to paper jackets.
Results: Reduced the amount of plastic used in the CD manufacturing stage by approximately 10 tons. This is equivalent to reducing CO2 emissions by 59 tons. (*LCA evaluation by K&ESG based on the Ministry of the Environment’s emissions intensity database)

BE:FIRST “Masterplan” paper jacket
[Music business perspective]
Activities: Eliminated the purchaser benefits (=corporate benefits) that vary by store/sales site, which could be one of the reasons for purchasing multiple CDs. The CD bonus, which randomly included one of seven types, has been changed to a product that includes all seven types.
Results: Total sales for the entire work approximately doubled compared to the previous work. Although the number of CDs shipped decreased by approximately 70,000 due to the abolition of the previous bonus system, sales of goods sold in place of the bonus increased. In addition, by switching from selling CDs with bonuses to selling goods with a higher rate of return to artists, we were able to return more money to individual artists.
