Michiko Hirata, CEO of TISTOU Co., Ltd., receives the Chevalier of the Order of the Crown from the Kingdom of Belgium.
Thank you very much for your continued patronage. Representative Director of TISTOU Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture, hereinafter referred to as TISTOU)
Rinko Hirata was awarded the Chevalier of the Order of the Crown by Antoine Evler, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Japan, at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Japan on May 15, 2024.

The Chevalier medal is awarded by His Majesty the King of Belgium to those who have demonstrated national merit. This award was received in recognition of Rinko Hirata’s many years of contribution as the representative of TISTOU to the dissemination of Belgian culture and design to Japan and the promotion of economic relations. This is all thanks to your guidance and encouragement over the years, and I would like to express my sincere gratitude.

TISTOU will continue to contribute to the further development of the Kingdom of Belgium, with the motto of “facing the unique worldviews and philosophies of brands and artists around the world, as well as their manufacturing, and conveying them correctly and firmly to the Japanese market.” I will continue to do so.

Receiving the medal
Comment from Rinko Hirata
I am overwhelmed by the honor of receiving this medal. Belgium is a rich country. In particular, Belgian people are very particular about architecture and interior design, so much so that there is a saying that “I was born with a brick in my stomach.” I trained as a florist there for three years, and since then I have visited the place nearly 100 times over the past 30 years, encountering many wonderful designs and wonderful people.
DOMANI CEO Gino and Bart, Henry
Jim, CEO of Dean, Vanessa, designer, and Dirk, founder and main designer of extremis. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the five people who have guided me thus far. Dirk calls us TISTOU “Evangelsta” (evangelist). With this in mind, we have continued TISTOU for 26 years with the mission of not only selling the products they make in Japan, but also communicating everything from the background, thoughts, and worldview of their creation. Ta. We will continue to work even harder in order to contribute to the realization of a richer life for everyone by introducing Belgian design to Japan. We look forward to your continued guidance and support.

*Mara Van den Breen (DOMANI)*
Rinko has a heart of genuine love and respect for others, and is overflowing with a unique talent for connecting people. Her ability to bridge generations, cultures and businesses, inspire others and lead everyone to achieve their best is truly admirable. Her tireless efforts, great empathy, and unwavering dedication are examples of human excellence and exceptional professionalism.
*Doyen Jim Paul M and Icke Vanessa Georgette E (Henry Dean)* Rinko is Henry
He perfectly understands Dean’s philosophy and Belgian culture, and knows how to convey it to the Japanese market. We always find business opportunities in any situation, whether it’s good or difficult. During the pandemic, Henry
It further increased Dean’s recognition in Japan. She is an
entrepreneur at heart, always full of kindness and consideration for those around her, and takes a creative approach to her work. We are confident that our trust in Rinko and TISTOU is unwavering.

*Dirk Wynants (extremis)*
Until I met Rinko, I had no idea that extremis’ business would be so successful in Japan. This is because Japanese people have a high sense of aesthetics and the climate is harsh for outdoor furniture. On the other hand, if it is approved in Japan, you can be sure that it will work in any country in the world. Thanks to Rinko and TISTOU’s efforts, extremis is able to show the world that we manufacture products to the highest standards. At international trade fairs in Milan and Germany, she brings more visitors to our booth than any other national agency in the world. When I come to Japan for inspection, I have the opportunity to give extremis lectures at Japanese architectural offices and dealers. TISTOU is the best team I could have ever imagined and is part of extremis.
