JR East Startup and eMoBi form capital and business alliance *~Let’s enjoy traveling more by train and electric tuk-tuk~* JR East Startup Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Shibata Yutaka (hereinafter referred to as “JR East Startup”) and eMoBi Co., Ltd. (President: Ishikawa), which operates an electric tuk-tuk rental business.
Tatsuki (hereinafter referred to as “eMoBi”) has agreed to form a capital and business alliance to enhance secondary transportation in tourist areas and suburbs and make the travel experience more comfortable.
◆JR East Group and eMoBi’s past efforts and future developments eMoBi is a selected company for the JR East Startup Program 2023 Spring. JR East and eMoBi conducted a demonstration experiment at Hatonosu Station on the Ome Line with the aim of creating a new experience of “enjoying transportation itself” using the railway and electric tuk-tuk “Paco”. During the demonstration experiment period, the service was used by more customers than originally expected, and we received positive feedback from customers who used the service. In addition, we were able to confirm positive effects on the area as a whole, such as expanding the scope of activities around the area. Additionally, in collaboration with Hosei University, we took on the challenge of making effective use of students’ time commuting to and from school and increasing the value of the transportation experience while commuting to school. We received over 90% satisfaction from the students who used the service, and we were also able to confirm that they were able to visit various shops and tourist spots between the station and the university campus, providing new value to the local community. .
In the future, we aim to promote tourism and regional revitalization with the keywords of “creating a new transportation experience using the railway and electric tuk-tuk “Paco” and “contributing to the regions in which we operate,” focusing on areas that have problems with transportation beyond the station.
