An exhibition of original drawings by Aki Kondo, who created the character design for Rilakkuma, will be held at the seventh venue in Japan and the first in Shizuoka Prefecture to commemorate the 20th anniversary of his career as a writer.
On display will be hand-drawn original drawings of characters created by Aki Kondo and loved across generations and countries, such as Rilakkuma and Moffy the Rabbit.

Aki Kondo Born in Ehime Prefecture. In 1997, joined the stationery company Design Office. Responsible for character designs and product designs such as “Rilakkuma” and “Mikanbouya.” After leaving the company in 2003, he worked as a freelance designer of characters and the production of picture books. His main works include “Mofy the Rabbit,” “Meow-Ossan,” and “Ofuton-san.” In 2020, Yume Ginkou (Hakusensha) won the 12th Libro Picture Book Award and the 5th place in the 14th MOE Picture Bookstore Award in 2021.
