This video is similar to the gymnastics corner of a children’s program, where a father and child energetically do gymnastics to an original song with a smell theme. Mr. Nakao appeared in a colorful costume in a children’s TV-style studio. When you call out to the energetic children and their fathers, “Let’s do some exercise together, parents and children!” Light music begins to play. First of all, “Takaitakaiwasshoi” exercises. The child carefully checks the smell as the father relaxes his body by raising his arms. In response, Mr. Nakao raised his right hand and said, “Yeah! It doesn’t smell!” In the ensuing “Which one is the daddy?” exercise, De Auman and Mr. Nakao line up in front of each other, taking turns peeking at their faces from left to right. After the parents and children imitated the same, they did the obligatory odor check. “Yeah! To commemorate the release of the video, Mr. Nakao shares his impressions of taking on the role of “older brother” and the highlights of the video, as well as the secret to getting along well as a parent and child, a memorable episode from Father’s Day, and his birthday being June 30th. So we asked him about his aspirations at the age of 36.
――This is your first time taking on the role of an “older brother” in a children’s program. Please let me know what you think after taking the photo.
To be honest, I was a little embarrassed as I had never played a role before, but… it was really fun (lol). It was just a happy space for father and child. It was fun just being there.
–What was difficult while filming?
Since I had children with me, my shooting time was limited, and I was under pressure not to tire them out. Before filming, I played music for a while and practiced on my own (lol).
–De Ou is a product that prevents odor from occurring. Mr. Nakao, do you have any trouble with odor or any memorable memories?
I’m always concerned about smells, and even when I go to the set of a drama or other drama, I get worried because there are other co-stars there too. Even if you think you’re fine, as you get older, your odor will come out due to various factors such as your diet, so I definitely want to be careful about it.
–This video depicts a parent and child doing gymnastics together. Mr. Nakao also has children, so please tell us the Nakao family’s secret to getting along well as a parent and child.
I talk about everything with my children. My wife also works, so we both have a lot of time to spend with our son. I also value the time we spend doing things together, like the father and son did this time. We have a lot of time between father and child, so we talk about various things during that time. I think that is the time when men spend time with each other, such as bath time using De Ou, which is very important time. We talk about things like what happened at school today, or something bad or good that happened with a friend. ――Regarding the content of your videos that feature parent-child play, such as “Takao Kai,” what do you often do with your children? (My kids are big, so if I tried to do something like that now, my arm would break… lol) But I started to feel lonely. I was looking at the parent and child during today’s shoot, and I thought that I too was looking after my son. Someday, that time will pass. My son is currently addicted to baseball card games, and this morning he said, “Dad, let’s play a game.” That’s why we play together.
–When the rainy season ends, where would you like to go with your family? I went on a family trip to Okinawa during Golden Week recently, and it was the best. The sea in Okinawa is truly beautiful, and I went snorkeling with my family and it was a memory that will last a lifetime. Now that the rainy season is over, if I have a chance to travel, I would like to go to Okinawa again.
–June 16th is Father’s Day. Mr. Nakao, are there any things your child said to you on Father’s Day that made you happy or words that touched your heart?
On Father’s Day, birthdays, and other anniversaries, he sends me pictures and letters, and for example, the one I made in nursery school that was a portrait of my father made me really happy, and I still cherish it. You can also feel your child’s growth by reading their letters.

I’ve been working for over 20 years since I was around 13 years old, and I’m grateful that I’ve been able to do so much and have such a good job and environment, but of course I’m not satisfied with anything about myself right now. After all, my main job is acting, so I want to continue to do good acting.
