The event “Gamagori PADDLE SESSION” will spread the charm of Gamagori City. An outrigger canoe and stand up paddle board (SUP) event will be held with Kenney Kaneko, one of Japan’s leading paddlers, as an instructor. *Kenny Kaneko is a four-time All-Japan champion in SUP race
competitions and has placed in the top three at world competitions. It’s a two-day course where you can take top-level courses in Mikawa Bay with beautiful scenery and calm waves, and Gamagori, which is suitable for marine sports. *

Now, the Gamagori City Tourism Association (General Incorporated Association) (Location: Gamagori City, Aichi Prefecture/Chairman: Kazuhiro Sugiyama)
Gamagori PADDLE is an event where you can learn about paddle sports with Mr. Kenny Kaneko as a lecturer, aiming to spread the appeal of the seaside town of Gamagori and revitalize the area through paddle sports.
SESSION will be held on Saturday, July 13th and Sunday, July 14th.
This event was sponsored by Gamagori City as a sports tourism promotion contract project, with the aim of promoting sports tourism in Gamagori City, increasing the number of people interacting with the city, and increasing exercise opportunities for citizens, by promoting the appeal of outdoor sports. This event is commissioned by the Gamagori City Tourism Association.
At the event, in addition to lectures and practical lessons on outrigger canoes and SUP by Kenny Kaneko, there will also be KOKUA, a brand produced by Kaneko.

kenny kaneko
Born in Chigasaki City in 1988, raised in Southern California. He started surfing at a young age, spent his junior high and high school years in Southern California, and returned to Japan at the age of 17. In his second year at university, under the influence of his father, he began riding outrigger canoes and discovered the appeal of rowing across the ocean. After graduating from International Christian University, he began SUP in earnest in 2013. Won numerous
championships at the All Japan SUP Championship. He has been racing overseas since 2015. In 2019, he became the first Japanese to win 3rd place in the world’s toughest cross-strait race from Molokai to Oahu in Hawaii. In 2020, he launched his own SUP brand KOKUA and paddle shop PADDLER, and is currently based in Hayama Town, Kanagawa Prefecture, where he works to bring the wonders of the ocean and nature to more people through SUP and outrigger canoes.
