At the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, we will be holding an event to promote the charm of yukata from July 3rd (Wednesday), in conjunction with the yukata season, which begins with the arrival of full-fledged summer, and with Tanabata approaching. In order to spread the yukata culture that is unique to Japan, on Wednesday, July 3rd, approximately 30 employees in yukata will be welcoming customers to the store in a cool appearance. When the store opens, the store manager and other employees wearing yukata gather at the entrance to greet customers as they enter the store. We will also hold a “Yukata Fashion Show” on the weekends. The husbands of restaurants in Nihonbashi and their families will appear as models, showing off their stylish yukata. Please pay attention to the event that conveys the charm of Japan’s summer tradition “Yukata”.
Demand for yukata as an outfit for enjoying summer events is increasing, and sales are strong.

On the kimono floor, the yukata sales season is at its peak with the onset of summer. We have a yukata corner with a wide range of products, including yukata fabrics, ready-made yukata, and accessories such as obi, sandals, geta, bags, and accessories.
This summer, there are more people than last year who want to wear yukata to events and outings. Yukata is attracting attention as a summer attire that can be used not only for summer fireworks displays and festivals, but also for special occasions such as going out, going out to dinner, going to the theater, concerts, and “Oshikatsu.” As a result, demand for yukata has increased and sales are strong. Additionally, the number of people who want to enjoy yukata as a fashion item in a unique way is increasing, and demand for accessories is also strong. Furthermore, Japanese miscellaneous goods such as folding fans and hand towels are popular as a measure against the heat, and are also purchased by foreign tourists.
