Toyonaka City and Okinawa City Brother City Partnership 50th Anniversary Project: Peace Panel Traveling Exhibition Held “Okinawa City’s Battle of Okinawa and Koza Orphanage”
Toyonaka City established a sister city partnership with Okinawa City in November 2020.
To commemorate the anniversary, we will hold a peace panel traveling exhibition. A total of 60 photos and materials borrowed from the Okinawa City Post-War Cultural Materials Exhibition Hall “Histreet” introduce the effects of the Battle of Okinawa, including the situation of battles and war damage in Okinawa City, the conditions of resident camps and orphanages, etc. To do.
In the half-century of exchanges between the two cities, “peace” has been one of the main themes, and we have deepened our learning through special exhibitions, lectures, and the dispatch of peace ambassadors. We will use the 50th anniversary as an opportunity to further promote learning and mutual understanding among the next generation, and continue the bond of friendship and trust between our two cities into the future.
