Waited up to 90 minutes last year! Shaved ice from the extremely popular shaved ice specialty store “Hyo Sasara-ya” will open in 4 stores for a limited time this summer! Authentic shaved ice made with melted snow from Tateyama
From July 1, 2024 to the end of August (*Ends as soon as materials run out) ……
Sasara-ya, a directly managed store by Hinodeya Seika Sangyo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture, CEO: Yohei Kawai), a long-established rice cracker manufacturer that celebrated its 100th anniversary in February 2024, will be open for a limited time this summer. We are opening a shaved ice specialty store “Hyo Sasara-ya”. The ice used for the shaved ice is made from meltwater from the Tateyama Mountain Range, which is an essential ingredient in making rice crackers, resulting in fluffy and filling shaved ice. Please enjoy this summer delicacy made by a rice cracker manufacturer that can only be eaten here.

Toyama rice and water are essential to our rice cracker making. The first thing you can enjoy is the delicious flavor of Toyama rice, but the second most important thing, the delicious taste of the water, cannot be directly conveyed to the customer. Therefore, Sasara-ya has made shaved ice directly from melted snow from the Tateyama Mountain Range, with the idea that “we want customers to enjoy the delicious taste of the water that is essential for making rice crackers.” Characteristics of ice

The melted snow water gushing from the local Tateyama mountain range is rich in minerals and has a smooth texture.
We asked Kuramoto Hyogyo, a long-established ice shop founded in 1920 in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, which is adjacent to Toyama Prefecture, to make the special ice. The ice is slowly frozen over a period of two days or more, and by slowly stirring and freezing, the slightest amount of air, dust, and impurities contained in the water are removed, resulting in fluffy shaved ice.
