The encounter between researchers and practitioners causes chemical changes. Local Leaders Meeting 2024
The event will be held in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture from Saturday, July 13th to Sunday, July 14th. Connecting means moving forward!
*About 30 researchers will be in Aburatsu shopping district! Approximately 25 contents and fieldwork divided into four themes were conducted, including human resources, unused resources, senior employment, urban development, hope studies, diversity, natural capital, business succession, and shopping district revitalization. * The Local Venture Council (secretariat NPO ETIC., Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) will hold the “Local Leaders Meeting 2024” from Saturday, July 13th to Sunday, July 14th.
in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture” will be held.

Local ventures (people who are responsible for businesses that utilize local resources) from all over the country, local governments and intermediary support organizations that are working to foster local ventures and create industries through collaboration with companies, and major companies in the metropolitan area that are considering new business in rural areas. This is a symposium with 150 participants.

This time, we will welcome approximately 30 researchers from all over the country as guests, with the aim of meeting researchers and practitioners (entrepreneurs, local governments, companies, etc.). By listening to and discussing the research content of researchers, it is an opportunity for researchers to experience a variety of fields, and for practitioners, it is a place to come into contact with
cutting-edge cases from Japan and abroad, and gain new knowledge and practical hints.

*Two highlights of this event*

* (1) Approximately 30 researchers gathered at Aburatsu shopping district in Nichinan City! Go beyond the conference room and engage in two-way discussions that create connections with local players*

This year’s highlight event is “* Locademic Market!”* in the afternoon of the first day.
is a participatory content that allows researchers who specialize in themes with deep local ties to have casual discussions at snack bars and conference rooms around the Aburatsu shopping district. * “Locademic Market!” is a coined word* that combines the words “local” x “academic” x “comic market”.

Participants will be divided into 10 venues and will be able to participate in approximately 1 hour of content three times. In an atmosphere similar to a “comic market” where content that excites visitors is lined up, *
When practitioners in the field (local) meet researchers (academic) with whom it is usually difficult to have contact, unexpected chemical reactions occur*
That’s what I’m aiming for.

This time, we are planning to have not only PhDs and professors, but also local entrepreneurs and practitioners who can speak passionately about a certain topic as “researchers.” Through communication that occurs in a non-formal setting like an academic conference, we can meet colleagues from all over the country who are attracted to the same theme, discover unprecedented cases, and new fields, all of which are necessary for people working in the local field. We will create a place where you can meet people like you.
