■The upstream waters of the Odagawa River produce beautiful colored Ibara denim products.
Ibara denim, produced in Ibara City, Okayama Prefecture, which is said to be the sacred place for denim, is said to produce beautiful colors because it is dyed with the upstream water of the Oda River that flows through the city, and is attracting attention from domestic and international brands. We continue to provide high quality denim products.
It is no exaggeration to say that because we are a long-established denim factory with a production base in Ibara City, we are able to utilize this “Ibara Denim” and create high-quality denim products together with experienced craftsmen.
“Aoki Clothing”, which is supervised by fashion designer Toshiki Aoki, and “FAGASSENT”, which is a purveyor to domestic and international artists and handles up-and-coming works, use denim materials from Ibara that are dyed with this upstream water, and are popular around the world. We continue to produce highly acclaimed denim products.
Toshiki Aoki, the fashion designer behind “FAGASSENT” and “Aoki Clothing”

■Odagawa water brought “shadow” during heavy rains in western Japan and “light” during the coronavirus pandemic
The water flowing through the Oda River caused major flooding during the torrential rains that occurred in western Japan seven years ago. It caused devastating damage mainly in Mabi-cho, Kurashiki City. At Aoki Clothing, the old company building used as a warehouse to store raw fabric was flooded with water.
Denim materials and machinery were submerged in water.
Meanwhile, due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has caused worldwide confusion, our company is concerned about the worldwide shortage of masks.
We manufacture many denim masks using Ibara denim, which has good color and does not easily fade.
It is also true that Odagawa water has played a key role in
stabilizing supply and demand in the chaotic apparel industry and on-site.
The upstream water of the Oda River has soft water rich in minerals that gives Ibara denim its beautiful color.
■Further development of the Okayama denim industry through dedication. Products made using Ibara denim, which is made from the water of the Odagawa River, which is a blessing of nature, blend smoothly into the skin, have beautiful coloring, and are lightweight and soft to wear. We hope that this dedication will encourage Ibara City and Kurashiki City to join hands with each other and bring about further development of the denim industry, which represents Okayama’s specialty product.
