From July 1, the electricity used at Takarazuka Grand Theater and Takarazuka Hotel will be switched to virtually 100% renewable energy. ■Reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 4,600 tons (equivalent to approximately 2,600 households) per year ■Using electricity generated at a solar power plant using an “off-site corporate PPA” is the first initiative in the Hankyu Hanshin Holdings Group
……
Starting Monday, July 1, 2024, Hankyu Corporation and Hankyu Hanshin Hotels will switch the electricity used at Takarazuka Grand Theater and Takarazuka Hotel to virtually 100% renewable energy-derived electricity with zero CO2 emissions. This will reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 4,600 tons (equivalent to approximately 2,600
households) per year.
The Hankyu Hanshin Holdings Group has made “promotion of environmental conservation” one of the important themes in its Sustainability Declaration, and has set a goal of reducing CO2 emissions at the domestic business sites of each group company to net zero by fiscal 2050. We have been working to reduce CO2 emissions by installing solar power generation equipment at Group facilities.
This initiative is the first for the Hankyu Hanshin Holdings Group to utilize the “off-site corporate PPA” *1 provided by Kansai Electric Power Company. The system will operate at multiple locations in succession, with a total power output of approximately 990kW. For electricity that cannot be covered by “off-site corporate PPA,” we will utilize the “Renewable Energy ECO Plan”*2, a CO2-free electricity rate menu.
The Hankyu Hanshin Holdings Group will continue to promote
environmentally friendly business activities and work to create a society that is capable of sustainable development.
