* About Nagoya Castle *
Construction of Nagoya Castle began in 1610 by Tokugawa Ieyasu, and it has been loved by many people for a long time, and was designated as a National Treasure for its outstanding castle architecture. The castle tower, which was burnt down in the war and rebuilt with reinforced concrete, is now aging, and the city of Nagoya is soliciting donations from a wide range of people in order to proceed with the wooden restoration of Nagoya Castle, which is said to be “the only castle that can be faithfully restored.”
