The aim is for a diverse range of participants, including companies from within and outside the region, local government and university officials, and local residents, to freely discuss themes aimed at solving regional issues, and to generate ideas for innovative services and products. . For co-sponsoring organizations that present themes for consideration, it is useful for exploring and discovering companies and researchers with unique ideas and technologies necessary for innovation. On the other hand, for local companies, researchers, students, local residents, and others participating in the program, not only can they learn about some of the innovation and
problem-solving efforts of major companies and local governments, but they can also collaborate with co-sponsoring organizations. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to turn your existing technologies, research seeds, and problem recognition into new services and products and expand them nationwide.

[Date and time]
Wednesday, July 10, 2024 14:30-17:00 [Event format] Combination of offline and online ・Offline venue Momotaro Startup Cafe (Wonder Wall, 2nd floor, ICOTNICOT, 1-8-18 Ekimae-cho, Kita-ku, Okayama City) https ://momosta.com/access [About the theme of this study] Aiming to develop biological substitutes to maintain, restore, and improve biological functions by applying the principles and methods of engineering and life sciences. In the field of engineering, the development of so-called cyborg technology, which incorporates machines into the body, has progressed rapidly in recent years to supplement lost or weakened functions of living organisms. Various cyborg technologies that were once thought to be the stuff of science fiction movies are becoming a reality. Cyberdyne Co., Ltd., which will be co-sponsoring this event, was established in June 2004 as a venture from the University of Tsukuba with the aim of solving various social issues faced by a super-aging society. The company has developed the world’s first wearable cyborg, HAL(R) (Hybrid Assistive Limb(R)), which can improve, assist, expand, and regenerate bodily functions, and is providing it to countries around the world. HAL detects the weak “bioelectrical potential signals” that are transmitted from the brain to the muscles when the wearer attempts to move their body, allowing the wearer to move according to their will. HAL is expected to have a wide range of applications, including not only operational support in the welfare and medical fields, but also heavy work support in factories and recovery support activities at disaster sites. At the workshop, Cyberdyne and Okayama Robocare Center Co., Ltd. will provide an overview of HAL. All participants will then discuss technical ideas or business model ideas that would enhance the value and functionality of HAL. When considering ideas, we encourage participants to think freely and consider ideas by combining their own knowledge and resources. We welcome a wide variety of people, including companies who want to create innovative services and products through
collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, as well as university students, high school students, local residents, and local government officials who are interested in the theme. We look forward to your participation.
