Mitsubishi Pencil Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Shigehiko Kazuhara) has an official partner agreement with the Organization for the Promotion of Independence of Persons with Disabilities (location: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Akihiro Matsunaga; hereinafter referred to as Paralym). We will be holding the 3rd Art Contest with Art).

By soliciting works without any restrictions on painting materials or techniques, we hope to gather a variety of expressions beyond our imagination.

This initiative started in 2022 as one of our activities to provide a place for expression.

◆Art contest theme
Describe your “self-likeness”
Express your own “self-ness” through art.
◆Application qualifications
・Those who are registered as artists with Paralym Art or those who meet the registration conditions.
*Registration as an artist to Paralym Art is optional.
・Those who have confirmed and agreed to the application terms and conditions. *There are no restrictions on age or experience as an artist. *Anyone with a disability can apply.
◆Work submission format
・Works created on a flat surface with a size of A4 or more and A3 or less (thickness less than 1 cm).
・In the “Please describe your feelings about the work” section of the work application form, please write an explanation about the work you entered, such as “What is your individuality?”, “Why did you express yourself this way?” Please enter in 100-200 characters.
・Please answer the “Art Materials Questionnaire” in the work application form about the “Art Materials” you are using. The answers you provide to the “Art Materials Questionnaire” have no bearing on the judging of your work.

Entries will be submitted as a set of “creation on a flat surface”, “description of the creation”, and “art materials questionnaire”. ◆Work submission period

[About Paralym Art (General Incorporated Association, Organization for the Promotion of Independence of Persons with Disabilities)] This is an activity of the Organization for the Promotion of Independence of Persons with Disabilities, which provides artworks by persons with disabilities to companies and individuals and pays the artists’ fees. Our main purpose is to support people with disabilities who are unable to participate in society and are suffering
financially, and we promote social participation and economic independence for people with disabilities through art. Artist registration is free, and as of June 2024, approximately 480 people have registered.
Paralym Art not only promotes independence support for people with disabilities, but also continues to create spaces where they can demonstrate their talents and take on challenges.

By adopting this initiative, partner companies can not only display art, but also use it for product planning, event holding, and other IR, PR, and marketing purposes. In the future, by contributing to improving corporate brand value and increasing sales through this business, we will create a system for sustainable “active social participation and economic independence for people with disabilities” and “SDGs promotion for society as a whole.” We aim to build.
