Hotel Chorakukan (Maruyama-cho, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto City, General Manager: Shigeto Yoshida) will be holding the Chorakukan Champagne Fair from July 1st (Monday) to August 31st (Saturday), 2024. The Chorakukan Champagne Fair is a fair where you can easily enjoy Grand Maison Champagne, which normally requires ordering in bottles, from a single glass. We have been holding this event every summer since 2021 because we want you to enjoy a cool summer in Kyoto. This year, we will be offering three types of champagne: Dom Pérignon, René Joly, and Moët & Chandon.
We want you to experience not only the taste of Champagne itself, but also the joy of pairing, so we offer a total of 6 pairings of Dom Perignon and various wines at Chorakukan FRENCH LE CHENE, and Moët & Chandon at Dessert Cafe Chorakukan. We suggest pairing the luxurious peach cocktail with sweets.

I Dom Perignon Dom Perignon Vintage 2012
“The world’s best wine” by the father of Champagne
At the end of the 17th century, Dom Pierre Pérignon, known as the father of Champagne, set out his aspiration to “create the best wine in the world,” using only the highest quality grapes harvested in a single year with excellent harvests. We have created a champagne with exquisite balance. After aging for more than 8 years, the
characteristics of the grapes of the year and the character of Dom Pérignon come together in perfect balance and harmony.
Vintage 2012 has a pleasant, delicate and inviting aroma of powdery white flowers, luscious apricot, freshness of rhubarb and mint, and minerality of ash. After a pleasant opening, it quickly comes to life, literally bursting with effervescence, delivering a tonic sensation. The finish is dominated by acidity and bitterness, with accents of ginger, tobacco, and toast, creating a sharp sense of tension. II Rene Jolly Rene Jolly Blanc de Noir Extra Pur A champagne that purely expresses the individuality and charm of high-quality Pinot Noir.
Rene Joly is a rare champagne made by a small French producer whose family of six handles everything from vineyard care to production. Blanc de Noir Extra Pur is a dry wine made from 100% high-quality Pinot Noir without any dosage. It is a pure expression of Pinot Noir’s unique personality, delicate, light, and deep flavor that was previously unknown. A wine that can be said to be the fruit of Rene Joly’s passion and hard work, expressing both of Rene Joly’s careful hand-crafted grape cultivation and brewing, and the charm of high-quality Pinot Noir from the Côte des Bars in an infinitely pure way. is.
III Moet & Chandon Moet & Chandon Moet Imperial
Moët & Chandon, a champagne house loved all over the world
By selecting high-quality Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay from our vast vineyards and blending them with over 100 base wines, we achieve maturity, complexity, and consistency in style. This assemblage brings out the individuality of each grape while creating a well-balanced taste.
Moët Impérial is a blend of fresh fruits such as green apple and pear, minerals, white flowers, and mature aromas of brioche and cereal. Fresh yet elegant, with a supple and rich texture.
■Peach cocktail “Bellini”
[Image 3: https://prtimes.jp/i/120366/48/resize/d120366-48-b81e2e9aa701cff3eb6b-0.jpg&s3=120366-48-3c649c47a71f297f14a81f804bc6f095-3900×2601.jpg] Bellini & ice sweets
During the fair period, we will be serving a peach cocktail called “Bellini” made with Moët & Chandon. By adding peach to the fruity scent of Moet Imperial, we have created a more gorgeous finish. The sweet “Lemongrass Ice Cake” offered as a pairing with Bellini is based on refreshing lemongrass herb ice cream and grozeille (red currant) meringue, and uses raspberries and almonds from the rose family. By eating them together, the flavor of peaches, which belong to the same rose family, becomes even more vibrant.
Bellini is low in alcohol and has a gentle taste, so it is recommended not only for those who like peaches, but also for those who want to casually enjoy Champagne and those who want to try alcohol pairings. ■Summary
