Since 2020, the IHW Group has supported the co-creation of new businesses by approximately 20 major companies and startups through the IHW Open Innovation initiative. Industry-academia collaboration and open innovation are being carried out not only by the IHW Group but also by many universities, but the goal is often to end with “manufacturing”, and there are cases in which the created business is not commercialized and the project ends. True innovation will not occur unless a product built through industry-academia collaboration is commercialized and the past “disadvantages” are resolved, at the same time as it generates revenue and becomes a business that grows in the healthcare industry. . When IIC was established and
commercialized, new members with experience in developing new businesses in the medical and nursing care fields, including digital healthcare, joined the company. We will work with business development personnel from companies entering the healthcare industry from other industries and experts in the medical and welfare field, aiming to launch products with a high level of business certainty.
