The POLA ORBIS Group strives to improve the well-being of people and society. We aim to contribute broadly to the Pola Chemical Industries, which is responsible for research and development, believes that the face is a mirror that reflects one’s mental and physical condition. Based on the belief that the face is a mirror that reflects one’s mental and physical condition, Pola Chemical Industries has developed a heatstroke prevention system called “Khaokara” that can determine the risk of heatstroke (*1) by holding the face up to a camera. We have been proceeding with development (*2). In the summer of 2023, the prototype will be introduced to construction sites and a social demonstration test will be conducted (*3). We have been making improvements based on operational issues and needs in the field, and in April of this year, we began accepting orders as a new business in collaboration with DUMSCO Co., Ltd., which has been involved in the development of this product (*4).

Kaokara is already being introduced in the construction and
manufacturing industries. On the other hand, the risk of developing heat stroke exists widely in children’s everyday lives. It is predicted that this summer will be extremely hot again, and
countermeasures are being called for in various places. Todoroki Junior and Senior High School is the first example of Kaokara being introduced into an educational setting. By introducing it to the school, we will verify the usefulness of “Khaokara” in the daily lives of young people, especially at school. We will also collaborate with the school to collect data and improve the AI ​​for children and improve its usability. I’ll try. Starting with Todoroki Junior and Senior High School, we will continue to work with local governments and educational institutions to prevent heatstroke.

This is a tablet-type device that detects the risk of heatstroke based on facial elements, including facial expressions, by holding your face up to the camera. A color notification is used to notify people who are estimated to be at high risk of heat stroke. Helpful for health management.

Using specially trained AI, it is possible to analyze the state of poor physical condition from facial images and integrate it with external risk information such as outside temperature and humidity to estimate the risk of heatstroke.
2. * Usability *
It can be used by installing and starting a dedicated tablet, and can be expected to be easy to manage and operate. Hold your face up to the camera, press the judgment button, and the results will be displayed in about 3 seconds. Customers have commented that the system is intuitive and easy to understand, as risks are shown in four different colors.
3. * Centralized management on site *
Risk results are centrally aggregated, and site managers can check the history of results on a computer. It is hoped that this will be useful for effective countermeasures, such as giving priority to people who are estimated to be at high risk.
