Shin Energy Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kobe City, Hyogo
Prefecture/President: Masahiro Inui; hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) will be open to preschool to elementary school students from Friday, July 12, 2024 to Saturday, August 31, 2024. We will be holding the 7th “Sustainable City” painting contest for.
This year’s theme is “Sustainable City – What the future of my town looks like.” Participating children will learn to care for the local community through the perspectives of “What can I do to make the town more attractive?” and “How can we work to ensure that people and nature coexist?” and provides an opportunity to develop imagination.

Seizo Watase, an illustrator with ties to Kobe City, was invited as a special judge, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Ministry of the Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Hyogo Prefecture, Hyogo Prefectural Board of Education, Kobe City, Kobe City Board of Education, Japan Sustainable Community Association ( We receive support from JSC-A).

Our company aims to create a community where future children can live with peace of mind. We hope that this contest will provide an opportunity for people to think about sustainable community
development, environmental issues, the future of the town they live in, and maintaining the ecosystem.
■Watase Seizou (Apple Farm Co., Ltd.) Born in Kobe in 1945, raised in Kokura, Kitakyushu. After graduating from Waseda University, he started producing manga while working as an office worker. Became independent as a manga artist at the age of 40. Representative works include “Heart Cocktail” and “Na”. He has also worked on many seasonal Pia covers, CD jackets, and government and corporate advertising posters. Currently, he is serializing the Shogakukan Big Comic special issue “Natsuno no Kyo”, managing the YouTube “Watase Seizou Channel”, and is actively working on exhibiting his works around the country as he celebrates his 50th anniversary as a painter this year.
