Atoa (Chuo Ward, Kobe City, hereinafter referred to as “Atoa”), in conjunction with “Tanabata”, is inviting the public to make wishes that they would like to make come true at Atoa starting June 15, 2024. Out of the 59 wishes that were submitted, this time the winning elementary school student “*
Your wish “I want to be a penguin keeper*” will come true on July 7th (Sunday), the day of Tanabata.

In addition, as part of the Tanabata event, zookeepers give
explanations about the ecology of capybaras, which eat bamboo and vegetables, while feeding them strips of vegetables tied to moso bamboo.
Tanabata limited! Capybara Mogumogu Time (feeding explanation included)* will also be held on the same day.

*1. A wish that can come true at Atoa: “I want to be a penguin keeper” * Event date and time: Sunday, July 7, 2024, 11:30 a.m. (duration approximately 90 minutes)
Venue: 4th floor SKYSHORE/Penguin pool/feeding room
Details: Winners will be able to experience cleaning the penguin area, feeding, etc.
Schedule: 11:00am – Gathering, changing clothes, greetings
       11:30~ Penguin observation, individual identification        12:00~                   Preparation of bait: Sorting and measuring the bait)
        12:30~ Cleaning of the penguin pool
Help with feeding: Count the food eaten

Inside
Yo: In honor of Tanabata, we cut sweet potatoes and carrots into strips of paper, tie them to moso bamboo with green grass, and feed them to capybaras. During the feeding, the zookeeper will explain about the ecology of capybaras.
