Mr. Katsuhito Mashima, President and CEO of Hekinan Transport Co., Ltd. Suzuyo Co., Ltd. Director Norimasa Matsuyama Suzuyo Cargo (Yuta Kamei, General Manager, Ferry Transportation Business Division, Net Co., Ltd.)
This award was given to AS Brake Systems Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture, President and CEO Toshiyuki Sakamoto) and Hekinan Transport Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, President and CEO Katsuhito Mashima) for their delivery between Hyogo and Fukuoka. , received this award for creating a system for integrated land and sea transportation by undertaking a modal shift to utilize ferries between Kobe Port and Shinmoji Port, instead of land transportation using trailers. Through this initiative, we were able to reduce annual CO2 emissions by 204 tons (53.8% compared to conventional transportation methods). Additionally, by avoiding long-distance land transportation, we were able to reduce crew time by 6,480 hours per year, achieving sustainable transportation. Due to the so-called “2024 problem” in which caps on overtime work hours began to be applied in April of this year, the logistics industry is facing issues such as reduced transportation capacity and labor shortages. Our company and Suzuyo Cargo Net are working to reduce environmental impact and improve the working environment of crew members by promoting modal shift and proposing logistics optimization such as improving loading capacity and loading ratio, in order to resolve issues faced by customers and society. We will try to do so.
