With the 1988 (Showa 63) timetable revision, the “Kagayaki
Kirameki”, an upgraded version of the 485 series, was introduced as a new limited express train specializing in business transportation and shortening the arrival time between the Tokyo metropolitan area and the Hokuriku area. .
“Kagayaki” ran between Nagaoka and Kanazawa, “Kirameki” ran between Maibara and Kanazawa in about 2 hours, and when combined with the Shinkansen, it took about 4 hours from the Tokyo metropolitan area to Kanazawa.
At that time, it was the first train of the 485 series, which only had limited express colors from the old Japan National Railways era, with a completely redesigned interior and exterior.
After that, an additional green car was set and it was active until 1997. Sales location
