The Osaka City Museum of Art (location: Tennoji Ward, Osaka
City/Director: Sakae Naito) will be renovated on Saturday, March 1, 2025 (Reiwa 7) next year after undergoing large-scale renovation work that will last approximately 2 years and 5 months. To commemorate the opening, *
Special Exhibition to Commemorate the Renewal Opening “What’s New! Osaka City Museum of Art Unveiling Masterpieces and Rare Items!!” * will be held from Saturday, March 1st to Sunday, March 30th, 2025.

Since its opening on May 1, 1936, the museum has expanded its collection to include approximately 8,500 items, mainly Japanese and Oriental art. This exhibition will use the entire building, * Approximately 200 works of art selected from various fields such as paintings, calligraphy, rubbings, sculptures, lacquerware, metalwork, ceramics, and archaeology, will be exhibited in one place *
To do. In addition to the masterpieces that represent the museum, we will also include works that we have not had the opportunity to introduce before, and will convey the “unchanging charm and new charm” of the Osaka City Museum of Art. Please enjoy reuniting with the works and making new encounters.
