As disclosed in the “Notice of basic agreement between four companies to build an AI data center” dated June 3, 2024, our company has announced that Super Micro Computer Inc. (Headquarters: California, USA; President and CEO: Charles Liang), Sharp Corporation
(Headquarters: Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, Representative Director, President, Executive Officer and CEO: Masahiro Okitsu), and KDDI Corporation (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director and President: Makoto Takahashi). We have agreed to begin discussions toward building a data center. Based on this agreement, the Company, Sharp Corporation, and KDDI Corporation will establish a joint venture company to develop the GB200 We are already aiming to build an AI data center equipped with “NVL72” and other devices and start operations as soon as possible. In the market environment, where AI technology is evolving at an accelerating pace, there will be a need not only in Japan but around the world to build AI data centers that can handle the rapidly increasing number of AI processes. In the current global economic and security environment, which is full of serious challenges and security risks, AI is becoming an even more important element in resolving issues, and there is a strong need for expanding the capacity of AI data centers and for cross-border collaboration.
