– *About the rental inn “Suigoen”*
Suigo Tsukuba Quasi-National Park
Suikyoen is a rental inn located on a hill on the shores of Lake Kasumigaura, which is in a Type 2 Special Protection Area. The building, which was built in the Showa period and renovated using the Itakura construction method, a traditional Japanese construction method, becomes more and more attractive as time passes. What you can see from your window or garden is Lake Kasumigaura, Japan’s second largest lake. Early in the morning, if the weather is good, you can see the sunrise over the vast lake horizon.

In addition to meals prepared using local ingredients prepared in the inn’s private kitchen, you can enjoy original craft beer from our own craft beer brewery nearby. Enjoy a relaxing and private stay as if you were staying in a lakeside villa.

Lake Kasumigaura is the second largest lake in Japan after Lake Biwa. It has been valued as a local water source and fishing ground since ancient times. As a base for Kasumigaura gastronomy tourism, Suikyoen uses ingredients from Ibaraki Prefecture, such as seafood caught in Lake Kasumigaura, vegetables and rice grown on the lakeside, and fruits grown in the local woodland, prepared in the inn’s kitchen. We will provide it to you.
Breakfast can be enjoyed outside on the terrace.
We offer a dinner menu made with carefully selected ingredients from Lake Kasumigaura, Ibaraki. “Umeri pork shabu-shabu course”
We will provide craft beer from Eguchiya Brewery as a welcome drink.

・Visiting Ibaraki with Suigoen as your base

From summer to autumn, you can see traditional sailboats floating on the surface of the majestic Lake Kasumigaura. If you go a little further, you will find a variety of culture and history such as the historic Chiyoda district, a village of fruit trees, Mt. Tsukuba, which is listed as one of Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains, the torii gate of Kamiiso in Oarai rising in the waves, and the traditional crafts of Kasama and Yuki. You can touch it.
The guest rooms on the second floor are filled with goods such as desks, bookshelves, colored pencils, and sketchbooks to help you remember your travels.
