Eel specialty store [Unagidokoro Manu-tei Seishin Takawa branch] Opens on July 11th!
*We will open a restaurant specializing in eel, “Manu-tei,” which uses the traditional method of purchasing live eel, preparing it and grilling it by a professional craftsman [eel chef] in Takawa, Oshibudani-cho, Nishi-ku, Kobe City. This is the fourth store opening following the Himeji Hanada store opening in June. *
HOPE Co., Ltd. (Representative: Yutaka Miyazaki)
Headquarters: 1-10-15 Shoji, Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture) is an authentic Kansai charcoal-grilled restaurant that focuses on the traditional “jiyaki” method of live eel that has remained unchanged since the Edo period, and offers it at a reasonable price. specialty shop
We are currently developing the eel restaurant Manu-tei. We will be opening our fourth Manunatei store on July 11th (Thursday) at 11:00 a.m. in Takawa, Oshibutani-cho, Nishi-ku, Kobe City.
Traditional grilled eel can be said to be a part of Japanese culture since ancient times, but I think most people don’t have the
opportunity to experience it. The taste of eel eaten at a specialty restaurant is exceptional. We wanted more people to know about it, so we opened Manu-tei in March 2023 as a restaurant where you can casually enjoy authentic eel.
Starting with the Arima store, the Tamba store and Himeji Hanada store were opened. Many customers visit our store every day because of the authentic taste that can only be enjoyed at a specialty store and at reasonable prices.

Doyo no Ushi no Hi
There will be two Ox Days in 2024, July 24th (Wednesday) and August 5th (Monday). There are various theories as to why it became a custom to eat eel on the Day of the Ox, but the short answer is, “Let’s stay healthy by eating eel during the summer months when we get tired easily from the heat!” ‘ That’s what I want to say. Eel is rich in vitamin B1, which is effective in recovering from fatigue, calcium, which builds bones and teeth, and protein and minerals, which are often lacking in the elderly, so it is useful as a nutritional supplement during hot weather. Let’s survive the hot summer with energy by eating eel, not just on the day of the ox.
