In particular, there is a wide range of techniques used, including copperplate engravings, lithographs, and woodblock prints, which are familiar to us as ukiyo-e.
This special exhibition will feature these prints, as well as large-scale works and three-dimensional works by 13 printmakers who are connected to Sagamihara City, from internationally active artists who have made a name for themselves in the Japanese art world to up-and-coming artists. A total of 61 works will be exhibited. Exhibition overview

[Background of the event and exhibition concept]
Since Sagamihara Citizen Gallery held the special exhibition “The World of Art and Beauty of Printmaking” in 1998, we have introduced various printmakers at art spots (mini exhibition corners) within the facility.
On the other hand, there are many printmakers who grew up in Sagamihara and continue to be active, which the city cannot keep up with through its activities. In this exhibition, a quarter of a century has passed since the last exhibition, and once again we will be introducing printmakers who are active in Sagamihara.
While there are a wide variety of printmaking techniques, the artists introduced in this exhibition each use their own primary technique while continuing to produce based on themes that resonate with that technique, and their works shine in their own unique way. .
Please enjoy the dazzling world of prints created by artists using a variety of printmaking techniques in a vast 366 square meter gallery. [Click here for exhibition details]
