Aggregation target
A total of up to 8,500 reports were collected.

Changes in the number of notifications for foods with functional claims Although the number of notifications has increased significantly since the beginning, it has remained flat for the past three years. It is unlikely that the number of reported cases per year will increase significantly in the future.

We will post graphs of trends by year and month.
*FY2024 is a partial count.
Changes in the number of notifications for foods with functional claims (by fiscal year)
Changes in the number of notifications for foods with functional claims (monthly)

*Trend in the number of withdrawals of foods with functional claims* The number of foods with functional claims that have been withdrawn has increased significantly in 2023. This is because the scientific basis has been checked or the product is no longer on sale. This is a prominent number in the graph.

In the future, the system for foods with functional claims is expected to be revised, and post-notification management will become stricter, including the requirement to conduct self-inspections and report on an annual basis.

Therefore, the number of withdrawals in the future is expected to increase more than in the past.

We will post graphs of trends by year and month.
