H.I.S. Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter referred to as HIS) received awards for four themes at the 2nd “JATA SDGs Awards” sponsored by the Japan Association of Travel Agents. In addition, one project won an award at the “Tour Grand Prix 2024”, which is sponsored by the association and recognizes excellent planned trips, and the awards ceremony for both awards was held today.

The “JATA SDGs Award” aims to promote initiatives aimed at achieving the “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” in the travel industry. This year, for the second time, HIS received the “Excellence Award” in the social and human rights category for “Shuwatabi College,” a travel education course that teaches in sign language that has been held since 2015. At Shuwatabi College, sign language interpreter supporters provide guidance to people with hearing impairments so that they can have a broader perspective on the world. So far, we have held a variety of events, including on-site learning about barrier-free measures at Haneda Airport and courses on how to use mobile phones while traveling overseas.

Theme: “Shuwatabi College” is a travel education course where you can learn in sign language so that you can enjoy traveling even if you have a hearing impairment.

In addition, on the same day, the “Tour Grand Prix 2024” was announced, and the “Haneda Airport Barrier-Free & JAL MUSEUM/Hangar Tour with Sign Language Interpretation” conducted by “Shuwatabi College” won the “Special Judges Award” in the Domestic Travel Category. did. In collaboration with JAL, the tour includes a museum and hangar tour while learning about barrier-free accommodation for the hearing-impaired at the airport.
